Several months after Facebook started to roll out the timeline to personal accounts, they have now announced that the timeline for brand pages will be available by the end of March.
Brand pages can be published with the new layout immediately but for those wishing to curate content and make changes, these have to be made before 30th March when all pages will go live with the new timeline layout.
The new layout gives brands the opportunity to get really creative and innovative with their page, particularly with the cover photo. In a briefing earlier this week, Facebook explained that the new layout will allow brands to tell the stories that create their identity.
Timeline for brands also show which of that users friends are also a fan of the page and their mentions of that brand, so the opportunity now exists to increase brand visibility within Facebook.
A new admin panel expands at the top of the page, allowing page administrators to make changes and updates within the page itself rather than leaving the page. More information about the page layouts can be found here, along with images of brand timeline pages.
