Whilst a high bounce rate can be viewed as a bad thing, it is important to consider which pages have a high bounce rate. If it occurs on page that displays contact information, then it is a good thing as it means users have taken the information they require. However if it is occurring on a page that has more in-depth information then you need to think about how to engage the user and lower the bounce rate.
Bounce Rate is only one metric in Google Analytics. It may also be useful to track goals alongside bounce rates to ensure that pages are serving their purpose.
