AdSense for Games from Google

Now ads may be soon found in your video games as well. With the popularity of video gaming, this could mean a big thing for Adsense marketers and anyone looking to market online.
Have you heard the news? It was announced that "Google is bidding to tap into the gaming market". They recently made this announcement that is getting a lot of attention. They placed a post on their AdSense blog inviting web-based games to take part in a beta test. This is how it's expected to work.

First, these games will be added to the AdSense publisher network. To be eligible at least eighty percent of the traffic to the games should consist of US and UK gamers because this is Google's largest markets. The games must also be played a minimum of 500,000 times daily.

The beta for AdSense for games will partner with Mochi Media and its MochiAds network. Google will provide the advertisers for the slots available. The ads found in these games will be from "top brand advertisers" to help improve the revenues and they will be targeted demographically and contextually. These ads will be sold through Google's AdWords sales staff.

When you become a beta user of the AdSense for games you have several options available to you. For instance, you can earn revenue with text ads, video ads or image ads and you will be able to choose when the ads show. You can set it so the players will be exposed to the ads as the game is loading, between levels, or at the end of the game. You will have control over the ads by using the filtering options provided.

This is the first time AdSense has been offered to the sector but it isn't the first time Google has been interested in the "in-game ad market". Last year they made an agreement to buy "in-game ad company Adscape Media" for twenty-three million dollars. Only time will tell how successful this new project will prove to be but if done correctly, it could have some positive results.
