CIM battle of the pitches win



Refreshed Media were honoured to be voted winner of the CIM's "Battle of the Pitches" event in Southampton last night (8th June).

Competing as the Emerge Group, Managing Director Simon Melaniphy presented alongside Aylesworth Fleming Chairman Matt Fleming and Space & Time Chairman Peter Jones, and against Lee Peck Group from Southampton.

Both teams were given a fictious brief to increase cycling by 10% over 12 months in the south of England with a £1m budget.  Emerge presented an integrated strategy including traditional advertising, PR, media and digital.

The Refreshed Media digital strategy included an innovative "experience" website, personalised to talk to the visitor in a way most appropriate to them and encourage data capture in a very innovative way.  Awareness and digital traffic generation was proposed including social, search and a banner campaign.

Managing Director Simon Melaniphy commented "We were delighted to be chosen as winner of Battle of the Pitches by a group of experienced marketeers.  I put it down to a combination of a strong campaign idea, hard work from our creative team in producing some outstanding designs for traditional and online, and a fun and lively presentation style.  No doubt it was a very close call as Lee Peck Group were formidable opponents, and commiserations to them."

The 60 strong audience of marketeers listened to the 30 minute pitches then were given 1 vote each for the agency they would appoint.  Emerge were declared the winners at the ceremony later that evening.
