Google Promotes Clean Energy
Both companies state that they want to be able to make renewable energy more accessible and useful to users. They reported that clean energy is "doable and solvable" and that it just makes sense to find a way to use it.
The plan from the companies was revealed at Google's Mountain View headquarters in California. They were holding their annual conference, Zeitgeist, to discuss the pressing issues of the 21st century.
This is more than just a good idea that won't go anywhere. Both Google and GE plan to push the issue in Washington to try to persuade politicians to push for major policy changes in energy which could result in more clean energy for the country.
Both companies believe the help of the government is necessary to see the needed changes in the energy issue. These types of energy changes can mean big things for the marketing industry as well as many other indistries.
GE is now one of the biggest names in the wind power industry and has had a hand in many projects related to clean energy and renewable energy sources such as developing a hybrid locomotive and water reuse solutions.
Both companies will push to energize the electrical grid and potential for cleaner energy sources. Wind power is considered to be far ahead of other renewable sources for reliability so this is the direction that most needs to be developed further.
Google is also involved in many clean energy initiatives such as geothermal, solar and wind-generated electricity. The two companies believe that with a joint effort, they can set in motion some changes that need to take place for clean energy in our country.
A smart grid allows people to track and control the types of power that they use and when. This will help show the benefits of renewable electricity. A smart grid is desperately needed and these two companies feel they have something to contribute.
