Sewerly this will be the fastest internet in Britain
Bournemouth is set to become the country’s first ‘Fibrecity’ with a reported £30 million being invested in a state-of-the-art, high speed cable network using…the sewers.
Fibre optic company H20 Networks propose to install the cables which will provide super fast broadband to homes and businesses throughout the town. This follows the successful communications upgrade linking Bournemouth Council offices with the BIC and The Pavillion using the same technology.
Councillor Nick King, Bournemouth Borough Council's cabinet member for communications, said: "Bournemouth is incredibly privileged to have been chosen. This is a giant leap forward and gives us a real competitive advantage.
Should this happen, Refreshed will be in the unique position of being one of the few digital marketing companies able to take advantage of this new technology. Downloading music, watching films online, transferring documents and video conferencing will all become easier and quicker with the new system. This can only increase the efficiency of doing business with Bournemouth based companies.
