In November 2007 RM launched their new and improved notebook the RM Mobile One, specifically designed for the demanding school classroom environment. Features such as a rubber bumper plate, anti-trip power cable and a sturdy magnesium alloy lid, makes this one hard notebook to break!
RM required a method of promoting the RM Mobile One that would highlight its unique features, draw people to the website and encourage sales.
Refreshed created the viral game in which a laptop is thrown out of the top floor window of a school and the player must bat the laptop as far as possible. The player’s score is then recorded on a high score table where they are shared with friends who can also be invited to play the game. The game was also developed into a Facebook application to ensure maximum exposure and brand awareness for RM.
Results
Laptop Drop proved extremely popular within the desired target market and has seen a total of over 60,000 games played since launch. The game has also been promoted virally though Facebook with over 3000 entries to the high score tables.
